Simulator
The Simulator takes your current trading performance metrics and then performs a simulation that provides information about potential future outcomes.
Important! Enter at least one trade before using the simulator.
You find the Simulator under Strategy Lab > Simulator:
Next to the simulator graph, you see two sections.
The first allows you to set the number of simulations (how many graphs) and the number of trades that will be simulated.
Below, after ticking the "Use KPI from my Trades" tickbox, you can change the statistics that the simulator will use. By default, the simulator takes your current journaling statistics for its simulation.
Once the simulation has been completed, Edgewonk provides performance metrics and results that allow the traders to understand theoretical account volatility, drawdown size, and estimate the likelihood of winning and losing streaks.
Account Balance Max: The highest realized potential(theoretical) ending account balance over all simulations
Account Balance Min: The lowest realized potential(theoretical) ending account balance over all simulations
Gain Max: The highest total gain of a single simulation. Difference between start and ending balance.
Gain Min: The lowest gain (highest loss) of a single simulation. Difference between start and ending balance.
Longest Losing Streak: The longest losing streak of a single simulation.
Longest Winning Streak: The longest winning streak of a single simulation.
Total Winners
Total Losers
The Simulator will not predict the future and your actual results may look very different. The goal of the Simulator is just to analyze risk-related figures and, therefore, gain a deeper understanding of the overall profitability of a trading approach.
You cannot expect to realize those results in actual trading.
